Elbert Duncan Brown, junior

- Savannah - Elbert Duncan Brown, junior, age 89, died on January 20, 2010 in Savannah, Georgia. Mr. Brown was born in Emanuel County, Georgia and spent his early years in that region. During World War II, he was a soldier in the United States Army and served his country on the Normandy Beaches, in the Liberation of Paris and in the Battle of the Bulge. After World War II, he moved to Savannah, Georgia. He retired from Union Camp Corporation in 1982. His wife, Elizabeth A. Brown and grandson, Rhett Morgan Rountree preceded him in death.

Surviving Mr. Brown are his daughter Patricia Gail Brown Rountree and her husband James Milton. "Mickey" Rountree, junior and his son, Elbert Dale "Chuck" Brown and his wife, Susan Maria Pelli Brown. His surviving grandchildren are, Abigail Elizabeth Rountree and Michael Mangan Brown and Travis Wynne Clements. A sister, Mary Lois Thornton and a brother, Simon R. Brown and nieces, nephews and cousins also survive Mr. Brown.

Visitation: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 22, 2010 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.

Graveside Funeral Service: 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
